Minutewoman Shawna Forde Shot!

I called Shawna Forde at her room in the hospital today. She was in a lot of pain, recuperating after surgery on the gunshot wound on her arm.
She told me she was rushed to surgery after being shot twice on January 15, as she was on her way to a friend’s house from an event at the VFW in Everett, Washington.
She said she sensed a car following her, and when she moved into a side street to observe and see if it was going around again, a bullet went whizzed by her head. As she tried to move away, one bullet grazed her arm, and the other one went straight through, severing some arteries. She has little feeling in that arm, and she has been told that she may have some lasting nerve damage.
Shawna had already moved out of the house in which her husband was previously shot when she was away, and in which she was raped and beaten severely by 2 men, one of whom repeatedly kept saying, “Chinga la puta!” (F*** the whore) Ms. Forde plans to leave the state of Washington soon for parts unknown.
Forde has spent months watching the border with various Arizona Minutemen groups, as well as leading her own group, Minutemen American Defense. She’s done reconnaissance and pursued her own investigations into human and drug trafficking rings. Anything she has learned has been passed to the appropriate federal agencies. She thinks these activities, where she traveled from Nogales to Sells, AZ, have put her on the cartels’ “hit list.”
Both she and her husband have been victimized. Her husband was so severely injured when he was shot that he was in the hospital for 9 days. After her first attack, detectives told her that her bathtub had been filled, and some speculate that her attackers might have done that in preparation for drowning her.
This is the second attack on her, and obvious proof that the reach of Mexican cartels extends way beyond the borders of Mexico deep into the United States. In a previous report on Border Guardians, a hit team was sent from Mexico to Phoenix, Arizona to kill a rival drug dealer.
Some leftist blogs have speculated that her attacks were faked and were done for publicity. This is serious, and her wounds are real. There is an ongoing investigation, and she may not reveal all the details of her attacks until the perpetrators have been found. It’s important for us all to support her and to help her stay safe, the same as we would do for any female member of our family who has been traumatized in a violent criminal attack.
